Giorgio Morandi

Conference by Greer Pagano, Ph.D.
In English
Lecture ONLINE
RSVP in-person

This talk will focus on the celebrated painter and printmaker Giorgio Morandi (1890-1964). One of the most important Italian artists of the 20th century, Morandi is well known for his intimate still life paintings of bottles and tabletop objects, which we will examine for their quiet meditative focus. We will also consider Morandi's masterful prints, his lesser-known landscapes, and his dedication to Bologna, where he lived and worked throughout his life.
