Give a Tax-Deductible Donation to the America-Italy Society of Philadelphia

WAYS TO GIVE

Here are a few ways that the members and friends of the society can show commitment to our goals.

  • CASH GIFTS
Money may be donated by cash, check or credit card.  Credit cards can be used on line or by phone.

  • APPRECIATED SECURITIES
A gift of appreciated securities may help you avoid paying capital gains tax that would be due if you sold the assets.

  • QUALIFIED IRA CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTIONS
If you are over 70 1/2  you must withdraw a certain amount from your IRA each year.  You can arrange with your financial institution to transfer part of this distribution to the AIS.
This may help in diverting taxes.

  • MATCHING GIFTS
If your employer has a policy of matching donations for charitable contributions, contact them before making out your check.  Some companies may support donations only for specific causes.  For example they may support music but not education.  To secure the matching contribution, the check could be made out to the Amerita instead of the AIS.

  • MONTHLY AUTOMATIC GIFTS
You can speak with your credit card provider or your bank about making a regular monthly donation.

  • MULTI-YEAR PLEDGES
Multi-year pledges are greatly appreciated and help the Society strengthen their budget planning.

PLANNED GIVING

Talk to your advisors about providing a lasting legacy to AIS in the following ways:
  • RETIREMENT ASSETS
Consider making the AIS a beneficiary on one of your IRA accounts.

  • WILLS AND TRUSTS
Include language in your will or trust specifically leaving money to AIS as part of your estate plan

  • LIFE INSURANCE
You can make AIS a beneficiary of a life insurance policy if it is no longer a benefit to survivors
