Biblioteca - Lending Library
In 2022 we officially opened our new lending library, Biblioteca, of Italian books and materials, the first collection of its kind in Philadelphia!
We offer more than 2,000 classical and contemporary volumes of fiction, non-fiction and current events, as well as books on Italian arts, music, culture, travel, politics and cooking.
We even have books for kids!
Whether you prefer to read in Italian or English, we have a book for you.

WHO AND HOW TO |
All marked books are now available to be taken home by Society members! If you are not a member yet, what are you waiting for?! JOIN US online or at our office. If you are already a member, go pick your book and come to the front desk to check it out. |
HOW LONG |
You can keep the book (or books) for ONE MONTH. Haven't finished yet? NO PROBLEM: call or email us to renew your loan and, unless booked, you can keep it for another whole month. |
HOW MANY |
You can take home with you a maximum of three items at the time. |
WHEN |
MON - 11am - 2pm TUE - 10am - 12pm WED - 11am - 2pm For members who cannot make it to the office location: DON'T WORRY! Choose your book from our online catalogue and we will mail it to you. |
WHAT IF |
- Your friend just picked the book you wanted: no worries, you can sign up to be the next in line to have it so when they finish it we will let you know that it is available. - We don't have a book you really want to read: come and tell us, maybe we can find it for you! - You have Italian books and don't know what to do with them: donate it to our little library! |

The books are divided per language: Italian, English, Bilingual, translated in Italian and translated in English and categories: fiction and non-fiction (biographies, science, art, cinema, cooking, kids..) and organized in alphabetical order per author or subject. |

We would like to properly recognize donors for their generosity:
If you donate at least $1,000, we will dedicate a bookcase to whom you wish (In memory of...) (In honor of...) with a small plate on the bookcase itself.
Every donor will be honored in the Biblioteca's webpage.

- We accept books donations, new or gently used.
- Free for members
- Donors who contribute at least $1000.00 will have the privilege of naming the bookcases; adorned with name plate
