Biography.
Professor of Italian and Film Studies, Chair of the Italian Department at Dickinson College, USA.
Her publications include: the book A Very Seductive Body Politics: Silvio Berlusconi in the Cinema (2015); the pedagogical volumes (with Colleen Ryan) Set the Stage! Teaching Italian through Theater. Theories, Methods, and Practices (2009) and Dramatic Interactions (2011); and articles and book chapters on the representation of the years of lead in Italian film and theater, political cinema, coming of age in Italian film, auteur cinema (Scola, Sorrentino, Garrone), the Decamerotici, and collaboration in the academia. With Ellen Nerenberg, she is co-author of La nazione Winx: Educare la futura consumista (Winx Nation: Grooming the Future Female Consumer, forthcoming in from Rubbettino, 2022). She has promoted collaboration as academic practice and co-founded gender/sexuality/italy (g/s/i ), a peer-reviewed academic international journal, of which she is the editor. She is the newly elected Vice-President of the American Association for Italian Studies (AAIS)
