Melina Caruso

LANGUAGE INSTRUCTOR

Melina Caruso is a specialist in Italian language, culture, and communication with a strong academic background in linguistics and modern languages. Born and raised in Palermo, Sicily, she holds a B.A. in Modern Languages and Civilizations and an M.A. in Modern Languages for International Communication. A native speaker of both Italian and Sicilian, she has extensive experience teaching Italian. Her interests include the processes of language acquisition and effective techniques for teaching languages. Melina is passionate about fostering intercultural understanding and sharing Italy’s linguistic and cultural richness. She currently teaches Italian at the America-Italy Society of Philadelphia and also works as a freelance instructor of Sicilian. She lives in Austin, TX.
