Pronunciation Courses

  • Module 1 - Part 1

    Tuesday 5:30 pm ET online
    JULY 8, 15, 22, 29

The first section of Module 1 provides students with the basic technical skills of Italian phonetics (presented with the aid of the I.P.A. – International Phonetic Alphabet). We will study the structure of the human vocal apparatus and its practical use in airflow and sound production. We will examine which organs are involved and how to control them to achieve the desired pronunciation. These foundational concepts will then be applied to the seven vowel sounds of the Italian language.

  • Module 1 - Part 2

    Tuesday 5:30 pm ET online
    AUGUST 5, 12, 19, 26

In the second section of Module 1, we will address an initial set of consonant sounds. We will explore how to articulate these sounds by correctly modulating the vocal apparatus, and we will engage in numerous practical and reading exercises to refine the technical understanding of these consonants. The instructor’s guidance and presence will be constant throughout.

  • Module 1 - Part 3

    Tuesday 5:30 pm ET online
    SEPTEMBER 2, 9, 16, 23

The third section of Module 1 focuses on a second set of consonant sounds. As in the previous section, we will study how to articulate these sounds through proper control of the vocal tract, supported by extensive practical and reading exercises. The section concludes with an introduction to intonation patterns in interrogative sentences. The instructor’s guidance and presence will be constant throughout.
