Four masterpieces from Totò, Peppino e la...malafemmina to Un americano a Roma, and from Fantozzi to Non ci resta che piangere, where the genius of comedians such as Totò, Alberto Sordi, Paolo Villaggio, Massimo Troisi e Roberto Benigni is on full display.

In the after-movie discussion, Alessandra Seggi and the audience will talk about these comedians’ different approaches to “riso Italiano”.

These films give us much more than laughter. They offer us a chance to reflect on the importance of cultural norms and assumptions, on the intricate beauty of intercultural communication, and on the complexities of the human condition, both in Italy and the US.
