Maria Maccarone

LANGUAGE INSTRUCTOR

Ciao, I am Maria! I am Italian, born and raised near Milan, though my family is originally from Naples. Life and work took me to Spain, Malta, France, and now Switzerland, deepening my love for languages and cultures.

After earning a B.A. in Linguistic Sciences, I built a corporate career for over 10 years. Even while working, my passion for the humanities was a constant, leading me to pursue a degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology and an M.A. in Modern Languages for International Communication.

I hold a TESOL certification, am finalizing a postgraduate course in Teaching Italian as a Second Language, and am currently enrolled in the official Master’s degree program to qualify as a teacher of English and French in Swiss middle schools.

Although fluent in 5 languages, I’ve just started learning German myself, so I really understand the struggle! I’m excited to help you get comfortable with Italian and truly immerse yourself in its culture.
